Poughkeepsie Journal |
"Marc Molinaro has gotten off to a strong start
in his first two years as a state Assemblyman
and should be sent back to Albany to continue
the work...Molinaro, a Republican, is facing a
challenge from Anne Rubin, a Green Party member
running on the Democratic line...Both candidates
are concerned about the state budget shortfall
and overall economic condition, and rightly so.
Molinaro says the state has to get working on
next year's budget now, that it can't wait until
January to begin this work in earnest. The
budget deadline is April 1...In his mind,
"nothing is off the table'' in terms of possible
cuts, but he offered a good list of places to
start, such as giving early retirement
incentives to some state employees...Both
candidates believe the state has to deal with
the property tax issue. They both support
circuit breaker proposals that would provide
relief to most taxpayers based upon their income
and ability to pay. But Molinaro was more
adamant the state address unfunded mandates as
part of any tax relief equation...Rubin said she
wants the state to move to a "new energy
economy'' that focuses on alternative fuels and
other green jobs...At an editorial board meeting
with the Poughkeepsie Journal, she offered up
many sound concepts but few specific programs to
implement those ideas...To his credit, Molinaro
has bucked his party over environmental
issues...He also has criticized both political
parties for financial raids on the state's
Environmental Protection Fund, pointing out this
is the financial source for so many important
efforts, such as open space protection.
Moreover, as a former mayor of the Village of
Tivoli and as a former Dutchess County
legislator, Molinaro hasn't lost his small-town
sensibility. He has been a strong liaison with
local government...Molinaro has been a solid
representative, especially for a first-term
Republican assemblyman in that
Democratic-controlled house. He will have to
build on that credibility and work with
politicians across the aisle to get more done
for his district and the state. Over the years,
in various capacities, Molinaro has shown the
ability to do just that." |

"What a lovely
Thanksgiving message you shared on the RH Moms website.
It was a beautiful reminder of the true meaning of the
holiday, and immediately inspired me to call the Astor

forgetting to do in all the hustle and bustle.
A tiny bit of hope,
realized.
Wishing you and your

"Marc Molinaro
deserves our wholehearted support for reelection
to the State Assembly for the 103rd District.
Marc takes his responsibility to the public
seriously, and the
concerns of the people to heart. He seeks out
and really listens to the many voices that make
up our community. An early proponent of Northern
Dutchess Alliance, the Greenway, and other
intergovernmental efforts, he has worked hard to
advance better and smarter ways of making
government responsive to our needs. His energy
and passion for public service motivate others
to pitch in, get involved, and do more for their
own communities. His experience and skill in
fiscal matters will be invaluable as the State
addresses the difficult economic challenges
ahead. Marc is honest, hardworking and dedicated
to public service. We need his experience and
leadership."

I have known
Marcus Molinaro for many years. From our school
days serving in student government to his
current role in the state assembly, Marcus has
always dedicated his energies to serving his
constituents and making their lives better. His
passion for public service is one of his
defining qualities. On a wide range of issues,
from property tax reform, to protecting our
children, to supporting local businesses, to
ethics reform in Albany, he has tirelessly
advocated on our behalf. Beyond his role in
public office, his spirit for volunteerism in
our local community serves as an inspiration. I
wholeheartedly endorse Marcus and urge the 103rd
District to return him to Albany to continue his
work.

"I have thought
long and hard about what matters most to our
103rd State Assembly District. And, in my belief
that we should always choose our representatives
on merit rather than party line, I will mention
a candidate I know well.
Marcus Molinaro
has been doing an excellent job introducing
needed legislation in a wide-range of issues
including State government reform, tax reform,
deficiencies in managed health care, especially
as it relates to women's health, instituting
provisions in schools to stop bullying and
harassement both personally and via the internet
and, so much in our minds recently, finding
better and more equitable ways to fund our
schools.
Marc has been

"I have come to
know Marc Molinaro through his words and
actions, both as the young, bright and energetic
mayor of Tivol and now as a NYS Assemblyman.
Having resided in Tivoli prior to and during its
rejuvenation I had first hand knowledge of this
young man's industrious and compassionate
nature...His recognition of the people's needs
and the willingness to extend himself where a
weaker person might have capitulated cannot be
overstated...Marc Molinaro, throughout his
career, has exemplified those qualities that we
hope for but sadly seldom encounter in our
public servants. With his continued
representation, his constituents can be assured
that their well being will always be his highest
priority.

Also, you were great on WAMC.
